Caitlin.
Caitlin was diagnosed with Benign Rolandic Epilepsy (BRE) May 2010, though she had her 1st seizure 23rd of December 2005 at just 6 months old. She had 10 seizures in total before her diagnosis her 2nd was January 2006, 3rd December 2006, 4th August 2007, 5th September 2007, 6th December 2007, 7th March 2008 (mothers day) , 8th December 2008, 9th February 2010 and 10th March 2010.
Her seizures varied in length from her shortest of 5 minutes in 2005 which she spent her 1st christmas in hospital with suspected meningitis to her longest which was over an hour in february 2010.
Caitlin had 3 EEG's before diagnosis the 1st in May 2008 which came back normal, her 2nd March 2010 which came back borderline and her 3rd April 2010 which showed abnormalities. She has since in 2011 had another EEG which showed abnormalities in the right parietal region and an MRI which turned out fine.
Caitlin is on 4ml twice daily of Keppra and has midazolam for any seizures over 5 minutes. When first diagnosed she was on sodium valproate which made her behaviour very eratic, so she was put on Tegratol though getting her to take it was a challenge she would spit it out and make herself sick therefore not preventing the seizures so she had about 50 further seizures between December 2010 and September 2012 when they finally changed her to a medication she didn't spit back up.
